Producer, SHERRI G. SNEED...known as the director of possibilities, is a universe of energy unto herself. Where you see just an idea, she sees unlimited potential and translates that potential into creative opportunities. Working with Sherri is like riding on a magic carpet of possibilities.
Combining tenacity, humor, insight, and years of experience (and contacts!) in the worlds of entertainment, business, and finance, Sherri has proven to be an invaluable asset to any project! With an impressive list of personal celebrity relationships, entertainment industry contacts Ms. Sneed is well respected for her significant contributions in multimedia and well-known for her ability to present creative, innovative solutions and rising to the occasion to get the job done with a pleasant demeanor!
As of 2019, Sherri is the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of The Pan African Film Festival, The City of Los Angeles, John Singleton Short Film Competition established to honor Singleton’s Cinematic Legacy and shine a light on emerging Black Filmmakers. The 2024 Season is currently accepting submissions. After a competitive process, 3 wining filmmakers are awarded $20,000 production funding & support to produce a live action narrative short film based on their winning screenplay. Sneed single handedly facilitates all aspects of the competition and script to screen filmmaking journey. From establishing the submission guidelines and criteria, designing the submission platform, to reading and scoring each entry. As a respected member of Johns’ former village herself, and desire to have a collective voice to determine the winner, many of his industry associates willingly answered the call to participate as competition judges & advisors. Sneed also curates a MasterClass Filmmakers Summit with guest speakers & script gurus who give the writers story notes, and priceless production advice to the often first time filmmakers. Sherri EP’s each film, diligently being on set for every take, yet natures an environment to allow for growth and independence. Sneed enjoys giving back as a mentor sharing gems from her vast 30 years of experience, however she considers herself the lucky one who learns just as much along the way from the exchange.
The first three short films produced under the JSSFC umbrella were critically acclaimed winning multiple global film festival awards, qualifying for Oscar consideration and garnering production deals based on the produced work. ‘Miss Sherri’, affectionately referred to by the filmmakers, has been universally applauded for her commitment to the the success of the program, and looks forward to fostering the next class of storytellers!
Film Credits: EXECUTIVE PRODUCER; 2022 short films “Contraban”, “Amaru” & “The Lifted”. 2019 PRODUCER “Celeste’s Dream” directed by Iona Morris. Sneed’s film bootcamp began with Director Spike Lee as a PRODUCTION COORDINATOR on “Jungle Fever” and “Malcolm X” and “Poetic Justice” with Director John Singleton. Other producing credits include: PRODUCER “Out of Sync” Directed by Debbie Allen, “Once Upon A Time, When We Were Colored” Directed by Tim Reid, and “Spirit Lost” Directed by Neema Barnette.

2022, PRODUCER, Divorce Court Season 24. In the talk show world, Sherri was a PRODUCER on ABC-TV’s “The View” with hosts: Barbara Walters, Meredith Viera, Star Jones, Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and an ASSOCIATE PRODUCER with Fox TV syndication “The Ricki Lake Show”. Sherri’s show ideas and franchised segments were creatively appreciated by the hosts, EP’s and network executives.
As a Special Events, Award Show & Multimedia PRODUCER Sherri has been responsible for event ideation, branding, marketing, sponsorship management, celebrity participation, award show entertainment, video production, and day-to- day operations for numerous high profile annual events including; 2022 Producer of Special Needs Network: “Evening Under The Stars” Gala, EBONY Magazine’s “Hollywood to Harlem“ Pre-Oscar Celebrations, EBONY Magazine’s ”Outstanding Women in Marketing & Communications” Luncheons, The Pan African Film Festival ”Opening Night Gala” 2023, The National Council Of Negro Woman’s ”Black Family Reunion Awards Dinner”, Sphatika International Product Launch Tours, ”An Evening of Fine Art & Design” Charity Auction in association with The LadyLike Foundation and

During her reign as PRESIDENT OF MAGIC JOHNSON ENTERTAINMENT, Sherri was Earvin “Magic” Johnson’s Brand Ambassador instrumental in reaching out to the TV & Film creative community attracting A-list talent, producers and their agents for MJE’s Development Deal with 20th Century Fox Television. Sherri also helped to establish an Animation & Publishing Department that formed the “Magic Media” brand, a joint venture with Blackboard Entertainment to produce multicultural comic books for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Sherri was VICE PRESIDENT OF TV DEVELOPMENT for Tim Reid Productions in association with Procter & Gamble Entertainment; MANAGER of RIGHTS & CLEARANCES on the premiere season of “Martin” for HBO Independent Productions; PRODUCER of Lifetime Medical Television’s Series “Doctors Sundays” and ASSOCIATE PRODUCER with MCR overseeing production from concept through delivery of weekly specials “Osteoarthritis in 3D”, “Grand Rounds in Rheumatology”, “HIV: Doctors Update”, and “New Views in Asthma Therapy”.
As the PRESIDENT OF ENTERTAINMENT for NetNoir.com (first African American portal with AOL) Sherri was responsible for original programming, content syndication, and strategic alliances. Ms. Sneed successfully launched the sites inaugural ‘film’, ‘television’, ‘music’ and ‘literary’ channels with compelling text, graphics and streaming video content in an unprecedented turnaround time of 30 days. Sherri also worked with the E-Commerce, sales and marketing departments to integrate entertainment based promotional campaigns on the website.
Sherri worked at the right hand of Tim Reid , Bob Johnson, & Butch Lewis as the VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCTION with United Image Entertainment which produced three features films for the BET Pictures & BET Film Banner in association with Live Entertainment, Encore Entertainment & Blockbuster Entertainment. Sherri drafted Talent Contracts, Crew Deal Memos, in addition to negotiated Low Budget contracts with The Screen Actors Guild. Sneed was the day-to-day point person and represented the company at numerous industry conferences, and film festivals across the country.
First as Office Manager, then named DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AFFAIRS for New Deal Productions, Sherri was one of John Singleton’s liaisons with Columbia Pictures.
Proficient in all forms of media production, As a Content Creator, Sneed was the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER of the stage play, “Langston Hughes...A Walk Through Time”, as well as EDITOR & PRODUCER of “Storm Stories” a multimedia video montage about Hurricane Katrina that premiered at the Billie Holiday Theater in Brooklyn.
Sherri is the WRITER/PRODUCER of the documentary “Back On The Stoop” about the reunion of fifty childhood friends growing up in Brooklyn, NY.
With a soft spot in her heart for the voiceless, Sherri is an animal rescue volunteer. Finding creative inspiration from all of life’s experiences, Sherri is currently developing an adult animated TV series “Brooklyn Strays”.
A dedicated and loving caregiver for her mother for 12 years dealing with Alzheimer’s, as a tribute and awareness campaign, Sherri wrote “The Alzheimer’s Monologues”...a touching, emotional and humorous stage play about memory, aging, and unconditional love!
Honoring her family legacy, Sherri modeled her producing career following in her father’s footsteps,
Sherman Sneed (singer, broadway performer, and manager/ producer with Harry Belafonte & Lena Horne). Growing up, young Sherri was exposed to incredible stars and living legends; Sydney Poitier, Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner, Count Basie, Fay Dunaway, Leontyne Price, Quincy Jones, Jackie Kennedy, and Rainier III Prince of Manaco to name a few. Although worthy of center stage, behind the scenes intrigues Sherri the most! Her foundation began and remains firmly planted in the fine art of “the business of show“ production.
Prior to an entertainment career, Sneed was a Wall Street Executive and former member of The New York Stock Exchange as well as The National Association of Securities Dealer with a Series 7 License for over eight years. Sherri was a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch and Vice President of the Mutual Funds Department with Philips Appel & Walden, Inc. where she managed entertainment clientele assets in excess of $400 Million Dollars (equivalent to over $1 Billion today).
Active in her Community and generous with her time & talent, Sherri has served on; The Board of Trustees Women In Film Foundation, NAACP Image Awards Nominating Committee, 2B4KIDS Foundation, Jack & Jill of America, First AME Church, National Bone Marrow Registration Drive, Sterling Street Block Association, Prospect Lefferts Garden Neighborhood Association, & 96 Magnolia Showhouse: Where Wellness Lives.
Born in Brooklyn, NY currently residing in Southern California; Sherri consistently devotes her life to being of service, producing quality entertainment, sharing a smile, and leaving a positive footprint on earth!

Friends 3 a celebration of the spoken word

With the support of it‘s founders and friends, THE SPOKEN WORD event has been presented at private residences and community rooms in Los Angeles & Beverly Hills to an appreciative diverse audience.
A catered lunch is followed by THE SPOKEN WORD performed by celebrity guests.
It is presented once a year with different themes alternating between Black History Month, Woman’s History Month, Music History Month, and Kwanza Celebrations.
Performances are videotaped and shared with the Los Angeles Unified School District
to inspire young artist with the power of the spoken word.
Supported by California elected officials, THE SPOKEN WORD was invited to perform at the National Black Caucus for Congresswoman Diane E. Watson’s Midnight Soirée in Washington, D.C. for members of the caucus and visitors from across the country. THE SPOKEN WORD was also invited by Congresswoman Maxine Waters to perform at a dinner she hosted at the LAX Radisson Hotel for members of the Congressional Black Caucus and community leaders.
